Yeah: this is important, and Democrats need to factor this risk in s they decide how to respond to the administration’s stonewalling.
I have problems with how the New York Times chose to frame the story—but I thank it for bringing it forward. We need to take stock of what the president’s people might do. nytimes.com/2019/05/01/us/…
“Stop using the criminal justice process as a political weapon,” says the attorney general as the president’s consigliere looks for means of making the criminal justice process a political weapon on his patron’s behalf. foxnews.com/politics/barr-…
“Giuliani called Mr. Trump excitedly to brief him on his findings, according to people familiar with the conversations. … Mr. Trump, in turn, recently suggested he would like Attorney General William P. Barr to look into the material gathered by the Ukrainian prosecutors.”

Ah.

Yep. nymag.com/intelligencer/…
Oh, here we are.

I'll say this again, and underscore it for emphasis: whoever wins the Democratic nomination in 2020 may need to set aside a few million dollars to fund a criminal-defense team.
