Thank you. And I was amazed by the overwhelming response. To be honest, my initial motivation was to simply ask an open question about a term that is so contentious nowadays. Now I'm thinking how I should proceed, but here are early thoughts (give me your feedback):
First: I could go through all responses (there were many, and I've gone through a lot of them), then reflect on it (both intellectually and emotionally), and give what I got out of it. That may spark more questions. This idea excites me.
Second: I could ask follow-up questions, or lateral questions. Some of these will have to be asked again only to Jews. Others would be historical or academic. Others would be questions of a general nature.
Third: I could bring Palestinians into the exercise and ask another question, this time to Palestinians and *only* Palestinians, about what they see Zionism as. I know a lot of pain would pour out, but it'll help us paint a more complete picture of our world today.
But overall I'm glad I did this, and I'm thankful for all the responses. It's just so amazing when people just talk and hear each other out. It gives us hope that perhaps we can actually listen instead of just screaming over each other.
I appreciate you all and thank you for being so open. I'm as Palestinian as they come, but this is hopeful, despite our current grim realities. This I promise: I'm listening.
