Given the vile revisionist nonsense @RashidaTlaib pushed about Palestinians giving Jews a 'safe haven' after the Holocaust- I thought I'd list eight popular myths that anti-Israel activists spread about the roots of the conflict.
1 ' the safe haven'. They like to pretend peaceful Arabs opened their arms to Jews, who then went on a violent ramapage and stole the land. In truth, Arabs violently resisted Jewish refugees (they didn't resist Arab immigration)- there were many Jews killed in riots and massacres 
2. 'remote landowners sold all the land to Jews'. The truth- as early as 1920, the British were trying to stop an epidemic of local Arabs selling their land. They sold land to Jews and now claim the Jews have to give it back. I am sure there is a word for that.
3. 'the indigenous and the invaders'. Many of today's 'indigenous' Palestinians are descendants of recent immigrants. A Muslim immigrant family from Bosnia is called 'indigenous' - a Jew whose family lived in Hebron 1000 years ago is called an 'invader' - just because he is a Jew
4. 1948 - not 'aggressive Jews against passive Arabs' but a bloody civil war caused by Arab rejectionism. Between November 47 & May 48 casualty figures were even and this before large Arab armies invaded to try to finish off the Jews. They failed & the Jews won
5. 'The problem is Zionism'. the myth of the 'peaceful tolerant' land before the Jews came. Chile's large Arab Christian community fled the region from Ottoman Muslim persecution. They referred to themselves as 'turcos'. All non-Muslim groups were persecuted -including Jews.
6. The Haganah were the 'bad guys'. The Jewish defence units were created following anti-Jewish riots in 1920. The British were unwilling or unable to defend Jewish communities (esp remote ones) from Arab attack. The Haganah were mostly farmers, protecting their communes.
7. The idea of partition was a result of the Holocaust. The British were discussing partition long before WW2. By 1935 the Jews had created state infrastructure - the Arabs would not stop attacking the jews & refused to live peacefully with them. Division seemed the only solution
8. The myth that Zionists 'invaded'. Jews came - many as refugees escaping Genocide. Just like today, those who opposed immigration made up lies about refugees. The only people who invaded were regional Arab armies that sought to wipe the Jews out.
There is no need to cave in to such myths. The underlying truth of the conflict - is Arab intolerance & violence towards Jews. The ethical imperative supports Zionism. We've nothing to fear from the truth - they do -which is why they spend so much time spreading lies
