Update on the #VenezuelanEmbassy situation:

Right now, things are basically the same as when I left last night, but fewer people outside.

A handful of @askavenezuelan people and press are in a section across the street watching, waiting for whatever happens.
Kevin Zeese, one of four remaining people inside, opened a window.

People opposing him yelled up that they’re probably having to drink “toilet water” at this point since the water to the building is cut off.
“We’ll leave when protecting power agreements are completed” says @DrMFlowers.

This idea, which @codepink says would be a fair compromise, is to hand over the US embassy in Venezuela and the Venezuelan Embassy in DC both to a neutral third party nation until issue resolved.
“We stopped a US coup for 35 days!” now claims the people inside.

“That’s what you think!” responded one of the Pro-Guaidó activists sitting next to me.
By the way, last night I was cross the street and could mostly just see the cops’ backs.

This incredible photo by Mara Verheyden-Hilliard @ThePCJF shows what the cops were seeing.

Mara is legal council for the Embassy Protection Collective.
“Go to the other window and jump!” a Guaidó supporter yells to the group, which is currently only one story up from the ground.

Just now: All four remaining occupants say "hi" out a second floor window at the @VenezuelaInUS Embassy. Peace signs and thumbs up.
“Margaret! Do you hate the women of Venezuela because they’re beautiful and you’re not?” one Guaidó supporter just yelled at @DrMFlowers with her comrades inside the embassy.

“Bye bye, bitches!” another one shouted.

Things at the embassy are mostly a waiting game right now. Press, activists on both sides, and police mostly just standing around. Occasional singing or arguing with one another.

I’m heading out but plan to come back in the evening. Things usually get a little more exciting at 6
I’m on my way back to the embassy now. I just got a tip that feds may take another stab at breaching the building.

When I’m there I’ll be going LIVE on the News2Share Facebook: Facebook.com/n2sreports
Just arrived. First thing I see is that police have segregated press from activists, and police are arguing with @RealAlexRubi that he isn’t press, and won’t let him in.

They just took him aside to talk without media seeing it, and as I type this, that seems to have failed.
The main reason @codepink and @answercoalition believes a second attempt to raid the place is upcoming is that a van used to hold arrestees arrived. Unclearnif warrant.

If it happens, it may be a while, but I’ll be live-streaming the scene momentarily at Facebook.com/n2sreports
Just live-streamed for 3 hours straight as activists anticipated another potential breach.

The police did indeed use a loudspeaker to demand that the Embassy Protection Collective folks @codepink @answercoalition @PopResistance leave, but they didn’t.

What the police (MPD and State Department’s DSS) have been doing, in a nutshell, is hanging out.

While they seem very happy to loudly demand that activists leave under penalty of a criminal charge, they haven’t been making many moves beyond that.

Looks like a stalemate for now.
I am actually so impressed at @RT_America’s Michele Greenstein @seizethememez’s ability to do her stand up reporting live with this going on in the background.
I’m having a break from reporting with @aletweetsnews at @JohnnyRockets.

Looks like the feds had the same idea.

🍔 👮🏻
Stopping by back at the Venezuelan Embassy, basically everybody left now, including activists on both sides and all but one @wusa9 camera in the press pen.

I’ll be back tomorrow afternoon when @RevJJackson is expected to speak in solidarity with @codepink, @answercoalition, etc.
