The Michigan legislature has decided not to allocate even a penny to the Dept of AG to investigste and prosecute the clergy abuse cases where over a million documents were seized documenting widespread child sexual abuse.
We are relying almost entirely on volunteers to review these materials in order to file charges before the statute of limitations tolls so we can bring sexual predators who are still active to justice. And now the legislature has proposed to cut our budget by 15%.
Wondering if our charging documents referred to the victims as an “unborn fetus” instead of as a “complainant” if maybe Republicans would start caring about sexual assault survivors, or about bringing to justice those who are still a very real threat to people already born.
