The ongoing educational revolution is, IMO, one of the most under-rated social trends. Changing social values, political identities and political behaviour almost everywhere. But it is very slow, and slow changes get overlooked.
The dramatic expansion of every level of schooling from primary to university, across the world, and within one lifetime means the electorates of the future are absolutely guaranteed to have *much* more formal education than those of today. The implications of that are huge.
Prejudice & nationalism? Education predicts them. Gender norms? Education predicts them. Religious values? Education predicts them. Views of the EU? Education predicts them. Authoritarian views? Education predicts them. Support for new right/new left? Education predicts them.
