@RepJerryNadler @SpeakerPelosi @LeaderHoyer Statements today by Chmn Nadler and Leader Hoyer make clear that impeachment is *not* leadership's preferred course; a contempt resolution for AG Barr won't happen until some time in June (if then); and Mueller's testimony is uncertain.
You are aware, of course, that your refusal to move forward w/ a formal impeachment enquiry dismays a major portion of our party. That dismay is, in part, related to confusion over your intentions. It undermines your leadership to continue obfuscating abt impeachment.
If, as it appears, you've reached the carefully considered judgment that an overt move toward impeachment is *not* in the country's best interests (or the party's, altho country comes first), you owe it to the country, and the party, to clearly explain your reasoning.
You must have the courage of your convictions. State your case; let the chips fall where they may. You will at least no longer be justifiably accused of prevaricating -- nods toward impeachment, but doing all in your power to duck it till the election. Be straight with us.
