BREAKING: We filed a lawsuit against the Binghamton School District on behalf of parents whose 12-year-old daughters were subjected to an illegal strip search.

Our complaint states that school officials’ racial bias caused them to interpret the innocent and playful behavior of four twelve-year-old girls as so suspicious that they conducted the extreme measure of strip searching them. Read the complaint: bit.ly/2GGisZU

The Supreme Court declared the longstanding doctrine “separate but equal” unconstitutional in Brown v. Board of Education (1954), one of the most important and celebrated legal cases in American history. #BlackHistoryMonth2019
Houston died in 1950, but his protégée Thurgood Marshall continued to carry the torch, litigating Brown, a coordinated effort which linked five lawsuits against school districts in Kansas, South Carolina, Delaware, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. #BHM

Today marks the 40th anniversary of one of the wildest slugfests in @MLB history, as the @Phillies and @Cubs combined 11 HR and 50 hits, as the Phillies beat the Cubs 23-22 in 10 innings on May 17, 1979. Obviously, the wind was blowing out at Wrigley Field that day.
In that epic contest, Dave Kingman hit 3 HR that went about 1400 feet combined, Mike Schmidt hit 2 HR, the first and last, which turned out to be the game winner, Bill Buckner had a game-high 7 RBI, 4 coming on a grand slam, & Larry Bowa had a game-high 5 hits (in EIGHT at-bats).
Phillies closer Tug McGraw entered that game in the FIFTH inning with his team up 21-9, and got a grand total of TWO outs, not even escaping the fifth inning. And the pitchers that batted in the first inning, one of which was RELIEF pitcher Donnie Moore, had a homer & a triple.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide. With clear eyes, let's look at what led up to it, and whether or not it could have been averted.
Let's go back a few years. After World War I, Rwanda and Urundu( modern-day Burundi) were ceded to Belgium from Germany in the Treaty of Versailles.
Yuhi Musinga was made King of Rwanda (left) and Mwambutsa IV Bangiricenge became king of Burundi (despite being 3 years old).
We all know how brutal the Belgians were in the Congo in the rubber quota. Well, in Rwanda, they were no less brutal. The cash crop was coffee. They called themselves"The White Fathers" and forced unreasonable amount of coffee production upon the Rwandans.

China is leading the world in wage growth at a time when worker pay is stagnating almost everywhere on the planet. Among its fellows in the Asia-Pacific region, the difference is even more staggering.
Wages have tripled in the last ten years — progress unheard of elsewhere.
