A reporter approached @JoeBiden to ask a question and a member of his staff told the reporter to leave, and when the reporter explained that they were just doing their job, the staffer said she was too. The staffer then took a photo of the reporter.
A different reporter just told me that yesterday a staff member physically put their body between the reporter and @JoeBiden. The reporter said they weren't even that close and that there were several supporters between the reporter and Biden.
This second reporter tells me the staffer physically invaded their space to the point that the reporter could smell the staffer's ponytail.

(THREAD) Everything you needed to know about Rod Rosenstein's appearance that ended about 15 min ago at Georgetown Law:
* He's never been on this floor of the building before. Complains it's hot.

* There's a story about a parrot. It's not great. DAG Rosenstein's humor is dad humor. He's goofy. Remember: he's a dad.

* People get their data stolen a LOT.
* About 5 min of talking that I'm going to summarize with a fake but accurate quote:"People are totally fine when technology companies and hackers steal your identity for nefarious reasons, but when the government grabs your data to protect you, IT'S LIKE WHOAAAAAAA! NO."

This is poorly written and poorly edited.

Sanders' is calling for a moratorium on public funding for ALL charter schools, not just for-profit schools. (He may additionally be calling for a complete ban on for-profit charter schools, but these are two different things).
Notably, the NAACP resolution, which Sanders is proposing to endorse here is about public funding for ALL charter schools, not the much more limited subset of charter schools which are for-profit (only about 15% of charter schools).
CNN confuses the issue here by launching the article with a mention of "for-profit schools," a liberal bugaboo, before spending the rest of the entire article talking about ALL charter schools, 85% of which are not "for-profit."

It's a bad job.

THREAD: Out of all of Trump's cabinet, Secretary of Education Betsy Devos is viewed most unfavorably. It's quite the feat, but is it deserved? It just might be, and I'm going to give you a few (among many) reasons why.
The Devos family owns a fleet of 12 private jets, so it's no wonder she's the first Sec of Ed to refer to public schools as a "dead end." Trump calls them a "monopoly." They're both billionaires who see public education as a business opportunity. Hence, wanting to privatize it.
In her time involved in education back in Michigan, Devos spent millions electing legislators that would slash public school budgets to spread for-profit charter schools across the state. Now HALF of those charters rank at the BOTTOM of all US schools.
