Apologies for Twittersplaining, but this comes up enough that I think it bears mentioning: "gerrymandering" does not mean "rigging a statewide election." It means (re)drawing the boundaries of state and federal LEGISLATIVE districts to give your party more state & DC seats.
Gerrymandering will not impact whether Trump wins re-election, since all but two states allocate Electoral College votes via winner-take-all, not by districts. It will impact congressional and state legislative seats, though. Great explainer here: washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2…
I guess you could call the Electoral College "gerrymandering" based on how state lines were drawn, but what voters fear will happen in 2020 vis-a-vis unfairness or cheating isn't gerrymandering. Twittersplain complete!

Very important point by @chrislhayes - Democrats face a 2020 environment in which the things Mueller found are both past and present. Not only does Russia have an interest in meddling again to help Trump, the Saudis, N. Korea, China etc do too. And AG Barr has signaled his OK.
If Dems impeach, McConnell will surely help Trump in the Senate trial as will Lindsey Graham and the other Rs, 20 of whom are up for re-election. Exoneration, if not aggressively turned against Republicans by Dems, could demoralize the Dem base and energize Trumpists.
And yet, not impeaching wouldn't stop part one (foreign help subverting the election for Trump) from happening. A free and fair election on healthcare and new roads is far from guaranteed. And Trump's base is already energized and utterly devoted. Not impeaching changes nothing.

Important point. Democrats consistently practice the politics of caution, seeking the path of least resistance, when the last two presidential elections where they won both the popular vote and the EC were won by the high risk black candidate who ignited the base & new voters.
The history of presidential elections is that passion tends to win them, not caution. Dole, Romney, Dukakis, Gore, Mondale, Kerry... all were safe, inoffensive choices meant to soothe the electorate with a promised return to "normalcy." HRC touted Trump's rank abnormality.
Maybe the Dems are right that the utter Trump exhaustion people feel will cause them to choose the "cautious normal" over another turn at "big change" (or FTM, the national convulsion of impeachment). They absolutely could be right. But it seems like quite a roll of the dice.

It's been a very long time since a currently elected Republicam has said things like this. It's almost like reading a foreign language... NONE of the congressman's GOP colleagues talk like this. Not since Trump came along and became an object of Republican worship.

In 2010 the Ravens defense was ranked 6th in DVOA, and in 2011 Chuck Pagano took over as defensive coordinator and it improved to 1st.
In 2010 the Ravens defense allowed 319 yards per game (10th in the NFL) and in 2011 they allowed 289 ypg (3rd) with Pagano as the new play caller.

In 2010 the Ravens’ defense allowed 16.9 ppg, and in 2011 with Pagano as the new defensive coordinator they allowed 16.6.

BUT

If you take away the 3 return TDs and the 2 defensive TDs they allowed from the total points, then Pagano’s defense only gave up 14.8 ppg! #Bears

I keep thinking back to a discussion a few months on reddit about THE BELGARIAD. Several comments were made about it being cliche and pedestrian, and someone said, “Yeah, it’s a fine story, but it’s never going to be a classic.”
And all I could think to respond was, “It’s over thirty years later and we’re still talking about it. How is that NOT ‘a classic’?
But that got me thinking- I cite THE BELGARIAD (and THE MALLOREON, its sequel series) as one of my influential works. But what is that influence? I know I’ve read the whole series several times. My copies of the books are in terrible shape.

New Q post re: @realDonaldTrump's tweet re: $1.7B cash Hussein sent to Iran & nobody in Congress, FBI or DoJ seemed to care. We know Iran is #1 sponsor of terror & this money would be used to fund terror. Was it also a pay-off for Iran to keep silent about what they know re: CF?
2. After Q drew attention to the Russian plane crash last week being intentional to silence one person, wondering if today's Iranian plane crash has some connection to Q's last drop. Perhaps someone on the plane knew too much? foxnews.com/world/2018/02/…
3. CNN corrected the total number of passengers killed to 65. Apparently one passenger did not board the plane. Have not found a manifest yet.
