#Mexico Tariff: Folks, Again this is hogwash. There won't be a 5% tariff. In March, he threatened to close the border & everyone was like "OMG he's going to close the border." This is an ineffective leader trying to destroy a reasonable deal to seek attention or distraction 1/

So there is no crisis that isn't created by Trump right now and instead of all of us losing our minds, let's take a different approach this time. Let's get to the end of this story now. What is the end? Some thoughts from the last rodeos. 2/

There will be news stories about what it means, its impact on Canada and Mexico, disgruntled/murmuring Republicans, and a whole lot of wasted energy. But Trump already knows the end. So, let's get there before him. 3/

Trump will declare a victory based on some metric only he knows and the seasonal decline of immigration as we head into warmer days; the tariffs won't ever take effect because the cost will fall on US consumers across the board; 4/

Mexico will have to kiss his ring to look like they understood his threat and acted accordingly (not clear this one will happen); and Trump will say problem solved.
