Crazy Trump/mafia coincidence: @SethCotlar made this terrific thread spoofing Barr's "everyone dies" with Springsteen's "Atlantic City."
The song starts, "They blew up the chicken man in Philly last night."
I've always wondered about this reference... 1/
2/ It turns out that Springsteen's "chicken man" was Philly mafia boss Philip Testa, who was killed in 1981 by a nail bomb on orders by his lieutenant. Testa's son then sold a bar in Atlantic City to... yes, @realDonaldTrump. Trump razed the bar in order to build Trump Plaza.
3/ Here's an interesting wiki nugget: "When Philip died he left his son an estate worth $800,000 that included a run-down bar in Atlantic City... Trump paid Testa $1.1 million for the bar, and then demolished."
Hmm. Why did Trump wildly overpay for the mafia bar...?
4/ Hat-tips to @g_bluestone and @MrDanZak who were on this Atlantic City meme early. (h/t @EricColumbus)...
5/ This isn't the first surprising Trump pop-culture reference from the past that turned out to be maybe more than a coincidence. Remember the wall-building "Trump" from the 1950s cowboy TV show? That was probably a hit on Donald's shady father Fred.
