This is a PERFECT example of what happens w/o impeachment hearings: Cheney made his company rich from Iraq and is now praised by the Dem frontrunner. Bush re-invented himself as a goofy painter who gives candy. 500k civilians are dead, but accountability was deemed too "divisive"
The decision to not impeach Bush was immoral, and so is this liberal desire to rehabilitate his image. The families of those 500k dead civilians don't care about the senate, but I'm sure they wanted us to at least care enough to try offering them justice.
Pelosi has done a lot of good in her career, but no one has ever done enough good to deserve blind trust. It's totally fair to ask why we should expect her to hold trump accountable when she didn't think Bush's war crimes were worth impeachment. It's a valid concern.
Never forget that Rep Barbara Lee stood alone against war and her own party too. Her sole vote wasn't enough to change the outcome, but it was still the right thing to do. No matter what the politics are, doing the right thing still has to mean something.
