Trump 2020 knows that the single most determinative indicator of a voter’s support for this administration is whether they are a Christian nationalist. This “day of prayer” is a campaign rally. 
I’ve spent the past couple of years researching the rise of religious nationalism in America via the pro-life/pro-family “values voter” movement.
While Trump certainly didn’t start this movement, he has benefited from 40 yrs of political extremists cultivating relationships w/ religious conservatives to build a coalition to push back against the gains of the civil & women’s rights movements.
I was a young mentee of the religious Right & know from experience how deceptive its appeal to the Bible & civic virtue can be. (who’s going to say we shouldn’t pray for our President?”)
But religious leaders make a serious mistake when we cry “peace, peace” while there is no peace. We cannot pray for the success of a political leader who has forsaken his vow to uphold the Constitution & weaponized the Presidency vs the vulnerable.
We must pray in the biblical tradition that Rev. @Isaacsvillegas lifts up here.
And we must work for a #RevolutionOfValues that exposes the lies of the religious Right by issuing a prophetic indictment of this administration’s public immortality. breachrepairers.org/moralwitnesswe…
