Campaign Against Antisemitism’s Demonstration and Event Monitoring Unit is at today’s “#AlQudsDay” parade. Already, demonstrators are chanting “From the [Jordan] River to the [Mediterranean] Sea, Palestine will be free”, a call for the destruction of the world’s one Jewish state.
Nearly 1,000 people are demonstrating. Our team has not yet spotted any Hizballah emblems which used to be pervasive at these parades but have now been banned under terrorism legislation. If anybody sees a Hizballah emblem, please contact the police or CAA.
We will be discussing some of the placards with our lawyers. They declare it is a “duty” to oppose Zionism and that Zionism is a “crime”. All peoples have the right to self-determination under Art. 1 of the UN charter, and Zionism simply supports self-determination for Jews too.
As London’s “#AlQudsDay” parade reaches the Thames, it has been brought to a standstill by a large number of protesters who have blocked Millbank and engulfed the marchers in blue and white smoke.
Under the International Definition of Antisemitism (antisemitism.uk/definition), “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis” is antisemitic. There are numerous brazen antisemites on this “#AlQudsDay” parade.
This year’s “#AlQudsDay” has marched under a banner calling for “Victory to the resistance”. “The resistance” is the name often used to refer to various terrorist organisations including Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hizballah, which seek the murder of all Jews worldwide.
Convicted criminal Mick Napier of @ScottishPSC has told the “#AlQudsDay” parade that not only was @UKLabour’s Peter Willsman right that the Israeli embassy is behind antisemitism “smears”, but that it even holds workshops where “Zios” (an antisemitic slur word) plot the “smears”.
Prior to today’s parade, CAA and our allies met with @MetPoliceUK, which vowed to “intervene to enforce the law” if Hizballah flags were flown. Their firm approach ensured that no shows of support for Hizballah were seen this year. We thank the police for upholding the law.
The brave volunteers of our Demonstration and Event Monitoring Unit went into the thick of the “#AlQudsDay” parade to gather evidence and ensure that the brazen antisemitism did not go unreported. You can read about what they found in our full report. antisemitism.uk/al-quds-day-pa…
