This #SundayMorning we're going to shine a bright light on what's going on at the border. A recent story about the number of baby supplies for tent cities in Texas has surfaced concern among the public.

(2) If you believe Trump, the border is in crisis. And that's partially true, but it's only because of the zero-tolerance policy his administration insists on enforcing. Net immigration is down and seasonal waves of asylum seekers are a normal occurrence.

(3) What's not normal is the number of families detained & the length of time they'll spend in custody. In May, the administration announced 6 new tent cities in TX for 7,500 more asylum seekers. There may be as many as 80,000 people currently detained.

(4) In photos of El Paso's processing center, families sleep under freeway overpasses or stand on toilets. Overcrowding is reaching catastrophic levels. Unsanitary conditions could be contributing to the deaths of migrant children in custody.

(5) Are the baby supplies going to these tent cities reflecting the administration restarting family separation?

An alarming report from @Rewire_News indicated mothers in custody who give birth are being forced to surrender their newborns.

(6) Family separation was deeply controversial and the administration was forced to officially stop the policy due to public outcry last year. But that doesn't mean they won't find sneaky ways to punish migrant families who ask for asylum.

(7) Families report being held in medical quarantine for up to 2 weeks. The administration seems to routinely flaunt Flores, which limits the time children can be held in detention. South Texas reports babies as young as 5 months held with their mothers.

(8) And it's not just families seeking asylum that are being punished by this administration. Several American citizens are being prosecuted for stopping to help migrants on the roadside or leaving them water and in some cases charged with smuggling.

(9) For the past year, hundreds of family separations have quietly continued as CBP exploits loopholes that allow them to deem a migrant parent "dangerous." We're still unsure how many children taken from their parents remain in custody.

(2) It's no surprise that the GOP looks the other way as Trump encourages violence with grossly misleading claims. After all, as Putin would say, he's their useful idiot.

Even Evangelicals hold their noses and support him because he advances their agenda.

(3) But what about the rest of the base. That 20-25% of Americans who seem to make up this cult of "MAGA country." Why can't they see through the lies that are being used to manipulate them into voting against their own interests?

My #CancelMyDebt story starts when I was 16. I graduated 2nd in my class a year early & wanted to pursue a degree in journalism.

There was just one little hitch. My parents wouldn't help me.
I'd been working part-time throughout high school, but I didn't have enough.

(2) I'd applied to some pretty incredible schools and been accepted at all of them. Marist. Bryant. Even my last choice- The Naval Academy at Annapolis. A few even awarded me scholarships. Marist was my first choice.
But there was one tiny problem.
(3) Even with Marist awarding me a generous partial scholarship, work study, and maxing out my federal loan eligibility, I couldn't figure out how to pay for even the first year. I was still thousands of dollars short and at 16, no one was going to give me a loan.

McConnell pushed through close to 40 appellate judges in 3 years compared to 55 Obama nominated in 8 years.

The Senate slashed debate on nominees from 40 hours to 2 so they could move even faster.

(3) To emphasize how dramatically this departs from norms, look at the nomination of Eric Miler to Washington's 9th circuit.

Miller is the first appeals court judge confirmed over the objection of both home state senators since at least 1956.

I rung NBC up. Here is a follow up on our call: 'It will be all the more powerful if NBC does it, one, because it’s the most watched network, and two, if NBC is doing it given the network’s agressive reporting on this administration, people will take it all the more seriously.(2)
NBC program on Halper would be 'holding a powerful (if repugnant) man to account, holding our top law enforcement agency to account, and ... clarifying something that will be written in..history books that cover Flynn, the current administration, and the Mueller investigation.(3)

"When your private C&D letter is tweeted publicly-" Passing the blame. She's saying, from the get-go, that Cockygate is the fault of everyone who dared speak about what they were going through, and NOT the fault of the person who put them through it.

B) I am in a position of tremendous privilege. I have access to resources that allowed me to deal with this in a way others who aren't as privileged couldn't have. And that's exactly why I'm speaking out, I don't want this to happen to someone who doesn't have my resources.
C) I get asked a lot by people what the point of the Trump mask photo was...I've answered the question in interviews but the answer has gotten lost in the mix. The image was inspired by Trump's sexist comments to Don Lemon about Megyn Kelly from the 2015 campaign.
