instead blame the victim and attempt to portray the perpetrator as the real victim.

This is what society has been doing to female victims of male violence since forever but the significance of this is completely lost on our misogynistic, authoritarian, ahistorical selves.

Here is what some of our allies had to say. Behold the masterclass in denial, minimisation, and victim blaming as experienced by any woman who has ever been victim to male violence or abuse.

Same old, same old, same old.

Firstly, denial. It didn't happen. Nothing to see here. The victim is lying. Because that is what women do, isn't it. We lie about male violence.

Then minimisation. "Attack" is in quotation marks. Nothing to see here - nothing serious anyway. Did anything even happen???

Note the arse covering caveat. The author does not believe violence against feminists is unnacceptable at all or there would be no attempts to minimise.

Lastly we have an entire thread from Joss Prior in which denial, justification, + minimisation are all put to good use. Prior uses photos of trans people with horrendous injuries as emotive comparison (I'm not sharing them here) as though feminism, and not men, were responsible.

Again, there is a weak caveat. Joss claims to abhor violence before going on to excuse and incite more.

I used to work for Women's Aid. I worked in refuge and in floating support, and I worked with other women who ran perpetrator programmes. The justification for the violence

against Julie Bindel (and Maria Maclachlan) are straight out of the perpetrators handbook.

"She made me do it."

"I don't believe in violence - I actually *hate* violence - but you don't know what she's like."

"She's barely a mark on her. She's making a fuss over nothing."

Yes, that's right. We've heard it all before you fucking bastards. You are not interesting, you are not original, and you are nothing more than perpetrators and apologists.

I will never stop speaking up for women's rights. Not ever. Violence and intimidation make me LOUDER.
