What renders your HDL pro-atherogenic? The acute phase response, or more precisely, serum amyloid A (SAA), that displaces ApoA-I in HDL. Beautiful ‘design’ to deal with infection/infiltration, but a huge problem if the trigger remains unresolved.

Alzheimer’s disease. SAA dissociates ApoE from cerebrospinal fluid HDL in a dose dependent manner, rendering the lipoprotein inefficient in removing amyloid β. APOE4 is more sensitive than 3 or 2. This explains a lot.

1. When designers get frustrated working with people who don't understand design, the tempting wish is to CONVERT THEM, ideally in one fell swoop, to GET IT. But this rarely works. Here's why. #design #ux
2. Persuasion works best on the other person's terms, not the designer's. You have to put aside how much they don't know and start somewhere small, in their worldview, where there is a clear problem, in their language, that design can help them solve.
3. It's the difference between "you don't understand this big important abstract thing" (what they hear) and "problem X is important to you and I will help you solve it". Which is a better-designed way to get what you want?

With 2018 in it's last moments, a new stage of the Syrian war have started & the end of the war is aproaching as time passes. 2018 has been another important year with many political & military developments: (1)
#AbuDhuhur Op (26/12/2017 - 9/2/2018) : as a continuation of the operation (started on October 2017) #SAA began huge offensive from many axis against Rebels & #ISIS in #Hama, #Aleppo & #Idlib provinces. The result of operation was the liberation of 1/3 of "Greater #Idlib" (2)
With W. shore of #Euphrates river secured by #SAA on December 2017, #SDF continued securing the E. one against #ISIS . Between 3/1/2018-22/2/2018 troops secured entire Shu'aytat region. However, a new development N.W. #Syria will provoke the delay of #CizireStorm some months: (3)

#SAA General Staff come to the conclusion that the current Syrian contingent in #AlSafa front against #ISIS/#Daesh militants won't be decided by the present forces & sent reinforcements to the area
At first,only 1 #SAA armored division & 1st Commando Division fought there #Syria

#SAA started new operation to clean #Suwayda desert from #ISIS groups (evacuated from S. #Damascus some weeks ago). Army took control over Ashrifiyah & Awra areas. #ISIS still has presence in Tall Sa'd, Tamutha, Al Kura & Qaa al Banāt
#Suwayda : #SAA expelled #ISIS from Mushirifah/Khirbet al-Umbashi area
#Suwayda : #SAA advanced from 3 axis, advancing many km in the third one & getting fire control over Al Kura in the first one (Map corrected)

#Russia is discussing/finalising with #Turkey the cease-fire in #Afrin to allow 4000 #SAA men to take control of the entire city, surrounding villages, establish 52 positions in the enclave and deploy forces on the borders with #Turkey.
Thos who believe the deployment of the Syrian army will only be on the 160 km along the borders with #Turkey are mistaken because that was the initial request of the Afrin administration from day one, rejected by the government of #Damascus.
#Few minutes ago, #Damascus was informed that #Turkey is still rejecting few articles in the deal regarding #Afrin. Negotiators are still positive and hope to undo the problem in the next hours.

We started a new year (I hope the last) of the Syrian civil war. But 2017 has been the most important year & the result of inflection point of the war in 2016 with many political & military developments : (1)
The first military operation of #SAA was Wadi Bara (23/12/2016 - 29/1/2017) which finished with the evacuation of rebels from Wadi Barada & the North montainous area in the border with Lebanon. At the same time other forces advanced in E.Ghouta reaching some parts of Hazrama (2)
#SDF started the second phase of #WrathOfEuphrates operation on December securing the West flank of #Raqqa plains (3)
