We need the country to listen. ASAP.
So with the help of @badger_winters we took to the streets of NYC today with guerrilla art installations.
People panicked at the sound of whimpering children (all real recordings of caged children in immigration detention centers), dozens of cops tried dismantling the pieces and others, like you...shared across social media.
We went viral today but we want the conversation to continue. DO NOT let this become a thing of today. Remember and act.
Call your reps, demand change, keep supporting organizations fighting on the frontlines to keep families together and children out of harms way at our border, but most importantly...do not let the fear of what we've become define who we will be. Pa'lante! ✊🏾💚 #NoKidsInCages

Truth is: he describes normal ops that already take place every day.

Those of us who work with & are part of immigrant communities know that these attack are taking place every day, all along.

Rodrigo Ruiz, a Peruvian🇵🇪 citizen has been living in the 🇺🇸 for 15 yrs and is fighting to stay to keep his son -- who's battling severe cerebral palsy -- here, where he can get the best medical attention.

Now he's being forced out by @ICEgov. Why?
Rodrigo entered the U.S. under a B1/B2 visa in '05 and became an overstay when he and his family realized that the only way to get their oldest son, Adrian the proper medical attention he needed was here. In the United States.
An official order of removal was placed in 2010. But for the past 7 yrs he has been on a stay of removal (a temporary postponement, which prevents @DHSgov from issuing removal).

*how many times can you say removal? 🙄

In NYC there have been almost daily attacks on outwardly visible Orthodox Jews. These attacks have been perpetrated mainly by minorities. Other than some prominent Orthodox voices, nary a word has been said against this brazen antisemitism.
What might bother me more is that there has also been a deafening silence from the non-Orthodox Jewish community about these attacks on Hasidic Jewish innocents.
It is unclear to me from where this silence comes. Are non-Orthodox Jews embarrassed by their Hasidic brothers? Do they feel no connection to them? Do they quietly feel Hasidim deserve these attacks?
