I roll up to the 7-11. They sell me a giant Slurpee in a huge single-use plastic cup, with a plastic lid. All around me are products in single-use plastic.

They give me a paper straw. "For the environment." It's unusable before my Slurpee is half gone. They charge me a quarter.
Reducing our plastic waste is an important goal. I recognize and understand that. But when disabled people are telling you plastic straws are necessary for full, unjudged participation in society, maybe listen, instead of going "nope, ban the straws and pollution is solved."
Also: when I was a teenager living on my mother's welfare, scraping together the change for a Slurpee once a month was often my one good treat. Charging me more for the ability to drink it without wearing it? Would have taken that treat away.
Ableism and classism often collide, for good reason. The people with enough money to control the narrative don't care about the disabled, the elderly, or the poor.
