I don't know if you are paying attention but Trump's response to the oil tankers has been very good. He has placed the blame on Iran.(stopping the neocons from accusing him of being soft) while at the same time not escalating the incident into a war(as the neocons want)
In fact, his moves towards Iran have been almost perfect. Doing just enough to appease the warhawks & pressure Iran yet not escalating it to military action. He did the same with NK, if you remember. While his military moves have been measured, his economic moves are the sword...
...to the military's shield. Can it end in war? Sure. If it does, will it be the USA pushing for it? No. President Trump has given Iran no reason to claim a defensive war action. His economic moves are devastating Iran; yet it's a simple matter for Iran to remove them.
It's a well played chess match so far and Trump is clearly winning. He is playing it so much better than Obama's Gambit in the area.

600 CEOs wrote a letter to President Trump against the Chinese tariffs. Now ask yourself, did these 600 CEO write the letter because they are worried about you, the consumer, paying higher prices or did they write it because it's costing them money? Who are the tariffs impacting?
Let's face it. These CEOs are upset because Trump is harming their sweet trade deals. The deals they moved offshore for to juice their profits at the expense of the middle class and poor. Now there is nothing wrong with profits. The more the merrier IMO but not when those extra..
..profits come from gutting the middle class and forcing the government(taxpayers) to pay the expenses they avoid. It costs to have a 1st world marketplace. They can either pay some of that cost via jobs or tariffs or they can be blocked from that marketpkace.

I'm not for the rich nor am I for the poor. I dont care if the rich makes $5 million or $10 million. How much is too much? I don't really care that much about the poor either except to provide a safety net for those having bad luck due to things like lost jobs, poor health, etc.
My main concern is for the middle class. The lower middle class, the middle middle class and the upper middle class. There is no one with power that seems to care in DC about the middle class, except Trump. Without the middle class, we have no freedom. Without them,....
...we have either Marxism or feudalism. Without the middle class, we don't have an economy. Without the middle class, we don't have a world class military. Without the middle class, we are reduced to Serfs & Lords and the only thing to fight over is who becomes the Serfs & Lords.

As the low attendance at the "impeachment" rallies show, impeachment is off the table. The Dems are in a pickle. There is no political will outside of a small minority for impeachment, nor are there any legal crimes to force an impeachment but small minority includes media/donors
So everytime Pelosi attempts to put impeachment to bed & moveon. org she is blocked from doing so by the very loud & angry small minority. She can't satisfy them without impeachment but if she does Trump wins in a landslide. If she doesn't satisfy them the $$ and energy dries up
What to do, what to do? Hmmm let's hold show trails and not call them impeachment hearings....hmm nope not working....let's say we will jail him later.....hmm nope not working...yeap this is a real pickle Grandma pickles set up with her purple revolution of resistance.

US sanctions are severe and hurting the Iranian population dearly. Iran is not allowed to export its 2 million barrel of oil/day and can smuggle only a few hundred thousand.
This situation suits Trump who is waiting to see Iran falling

Iran can't wait. It has reliable allies in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan & Yemen who expressed their readiness to hit US & allies in the region regardless of the consequences.
It has a military capability to hurt the US bases & US allies in the ME & increase oil price.

Iran has the capability to hit Tankers on movement or static in harbours and close all harbours in the ME.

The US and allies can seriously hurt Iran but the US can't threaten a dying man of war.

Iran has nothing to lose anymore.
