Same #Saudi regime that has imprisoned without charge women’s rights activists since May and tortured them, including via water boarding. Same Saudi regime whose counter extremism agency made a public service announcement conflating feminism with terrorism. It’s not about “first”
This is typical #Saudi regime MO. #Saudi Arabia subjects women to a form of gender apartheid that requires all girls and women to have a male guardian that controls almost every aspect of their life. It’s not about “first.”
This same “first woman ambassador” like all #Saudi women has a male guardian. It could be her father, husband, brother and even son. It’s not about “first.”

Details on #Khashoggi affair:
News coming out from #Turkey that President @RT_Erdogan is still hot on the affair, presenting a large list of demands to #SaudiArabia and the #USA, including compensation for the devaluation of the Turkish lira and support to #Qatar and #Egypt MB +
#Turkey has received Khaled al-Faysal 4 times and was agreed to invest $30 bn in the country. In addition, there are tens of Fethullah Gülen in #SaudiArabia that #Riyadh will have to "deal with" to please #Ankara.

#CIA Director didn't listen to the Saudi conversation between the consulate & MBS head office but it seems MBS was also present and his voice seems clear in the taped conversation. Saoud al-Kahtani denied MBS's presence during #Khashoggi's interrogation

1/ The #Saudi kidnapping of #Khashoggi reminds me of the kidnapping of #Hariri. It is meant to embarrass the other party, this time the gov of #Turkey, and provoke a diplomatic crisis. This is drug Cartel methods. It has no other goal than to assert power over the other.
2/ However, resorting to these methods to assert power in the political and international affairs sphere is always a sign of weakness and a sign of a power in crisis. #SaudiArabia

#Iran-backed #Houthi attacks on x2 @Saudi_Aramco oil tankers in the Bab el-Mendeb is a really big deal.

All Aramco oil shipments have been temporarily suspended

@Saudi_Aramco Notably, yesterday’s #Houthi attacks on oil tankers come a week after the #Houthis claimed to have attacked a @Saudi_Aramco oil refinery in #Riyadh with a drone.

@Saudi_Aramco #pts: #Iran makes no secret of its threats to attack #Saudi oil & shipping, just as it's repeatedly threatened to attack US assets in the region, as Qassem Someimani did earlier:

- “We're ready to confront you; You'll start the war but we'll end it."

One thing people are forgetting about this whole #Riyadh incident is that #SaudiArabia has one of the LOWEST press freedom index values in the world.
Unlike other countries of the world, there are no anti-establishment outlets to pick up destabilizing stories...

We, as outsiders, are forced to either investigate on our own or accept a phony government press release which may or may not hold any merit.
Social media, as well, is restricted heavily. You simply will NOT see the steady flow of first hand footage from this part of the world like you may see elsewhere.
