Justice Alito joined the 7 member majority that reversed the decision of the Mississippi Supreme Court in Curtis Flowers’ case. But don’t get any ideas. He’s very clear that this case is “one of a kind.”
Justice Thomas (joined by Gorsuch in dissent) is unrelenting: “If the Court’s opinion today has a redeeming quality, it is this: The State is perfectly free to convict Curtis Flowers again.”
