I'm gonna stop you right there
You don't even like millennials...
How you gonna minister to a group of people you actively antagonize?
Millennials are responsible for killing
Cooking at home
Relationships
Real estate
Engagement rings
9-5 jobs
And... RELIGION?
Churches have difficulty attracting millennials because... Well... You don't like them... Much less love them
How you gonna serve what you haven't learned to love?
Jesus lived 33 years... His ministry was for only 3 years.... He spent 30 years learning to love and preparing to serve.
Y'all keep running these panels about millennials with two people under fifty on them... Beloved... That's not a discussion... That's gossip
You're concerned about the future of the church... They are concerned about the future of the Earth... These two ideas are not unrelated... But you have to do the work to connect them
You're concerned with making folks "straight" they are concerned with people being well
You wanna miss hell... Hell is not the primary locus of their decision making
What good is missing hell if you gonna live in hell
You trying to get somebody to come to a church building... Beloved... Millennials will have church at the creek, warehouse, somebody house, the bar, street corner... Don't matter... Holiness doesn't live in houses it lives in hearts
You're stuck on the inerrancy of the text... The transformative text for millennials was about a boy born with a curse who could talk to snakes... It's not inerrancy it's power of story
How you gonna severe them? You can't take your head out of your rear long enough to see them
At the end of the day millennials need love, connection, care, and affirmation... They need a space to work through difficult questions... Painful truths...
The church would have you believe that God is afraid of Gay people... Well if God is so scared of gay folks why does God keep making so many?
Listen... Either God is omnipotent or God is insecure... But God can't be both
I don't know what the church looks like tomorrow... What I do know is. It will never be the way it was... And that's a blessing it was profoundly harmful
But the question is... What do you want to see tomorrow?

Mostly because we (churchy types, Evangelical informed faith spaces, ect) spent a smooth twenty five years trying to ideologically beat the gay out of people

the reality is this: girlhood is traumatizing. if it was not for you, as a female, you are lucky. this is harsh. it is true. they are self aware enough to keep men as a common enemy, but now it’s become men (as an identity) and masculine people.
even masculine females have privilege over feminine ones, because they can exhibit toxic masculinity.
another way to make the females in these spaces, many of whom are GNC to begin with, feel guilty and personally responsible for what happens to trans women.
because the badness comes from Being A Man/Being Masculine, (unless you’re male, and a transbian, in which case you’re butch and still privileged over ‘cis butches’ because of the fact that they’re cis and you’re not.)

(2/3) Even more though: these folks are emboldened by the president's rhetoric on immigration. And because white nats and Nazis view Jews as behind immigration they attack Jews. Trump's rhetoric on THAT amps up WN anger, which gets turned against the ones they blame for it...
(3/3) In this way, no matter Trump's views on Israel, or the fact that his son-in-law is Jewish & his daughter converted, his rhetoric on migration/demographic change feeds anti-Semitism by default bc of how white nationalists understand immigration & whom they blame for it...
