Autistic people don't ”do” hierarchy
(a thread don't know how long )

Hierarchy is a social construct so for those of us who are less socially constructed ,hierarchy feels and looks different.

This doesn't mean we are disrespectful as we can learn rules and routines perfectly
What it does means is that we are likely to talk to a king in the same manner we would talk to a homeless man on the streets ,hopefully if you're kind hearted , that's a good thing 👍

It's a really useful life skill, here's why...
You become the person who brings union and galvanize groups of people, when I lived in a mother and baby hostel as a teen I spoke to my peers just as I’d speak to the staff , this helped if rules needed to be passed on also helped if someone needed help , the middleman almost
It helped iron out rigid angry complaints in a sales team as I’d resonate with the customer and also my boss and translate and find a solution .

I didn’t see either of their mindsets (how could I ?) I just saw the rules and what was fair and calmed things down to move forward
It’s also really helpful to be around other Autistic people when as a Autistic person achieve good things , normally someone not Autistic will say “look at you clever clogs , haven’t you replied to me?“ another Autistic will ask “You must be on autopilot ,do you need my help ?”
It’s not that we don’t respect people’s achievements WE REALLY DO !
We jump up and down with excitement for other people’s work and joy ,it’s just we still see the same human underneath it all .
The same human before poverty ?the same human before glory? And that’s beautiful 🌈
