why does everyone act like if dems opened an impeachment inquiry that trump would just stay totally chill and be able to win in 2020 instead of whats more likely that he would act completely insane and start fighting with everyone and blow up the whole republican party by 2020?
like, all we have to do is open the inquiry, hell go insane and start attacking republicans for not being able to close it. he'll attack all his own people non stop.
think bout all the people trump had problems with over not being able to fire mueller. like everyone, all his own circle.

dems had cohen testify to committing crimes with trump and instead of starting impeachment, we waited for trump to replace a literal big dick toilet salesman with a skillful coverup specialist at attorney general. can a political strategist explain to me how this was a good plan?
WAKE UP. there is no fucking plan. u cant plan against crazy and thats what were dealing with. if u want me to believe that we are running a smart plan, then i have to believe that we expected mnuching and barr and mcgahn to defy subpoenas. was this part of the plan?
not getting the mueller report was part of the plan? stop telling me there is plan. we are just being reactive. that is not a plan. there is absolutely no evidence at all that there is or ever has been a plan.

We've just released the final report by @Alston_UNSR, the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme #poverty, on his visit to the #UK. The report is available here: undocs.org/A/HRC/41/39/Ad…. A few key takeaways:
Some have asked me why a UN expert on #poverty would visit the #UK. Unfortunately, although the UK is the world’s 5th largest economy, 14 million are in poverty, child poverty is rising & predicted to reach 40% by 2021, homelessness is up 60%, and food bank use has skyrocketed.
To understand #poverty in the #UK, you have to look at the massive disinvestment in social support since 2010: the end of a centralized social fund, changes to the ways benefits are capped & calculated that substantially reduce their value, the decimation of civil legal aid, etc.

I just learned Jeffrey Hart died. The English professor, conservative columnist and National Review editor has a mixed legacy. Denied tenure at Columbia he moved to Dartmouth where he was in the English department until he retired.
He wrote two books about National Review, one in the mid-1960s that disappointed WFB & one in 2005 that had an interesting memoirist retrospective element. He liked Eisenhower and Clinton then a lot more than NR did at the time.
In the 1980s he also mentored several right-wing speechwriters, including Peter Robinson who wrote "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall."

I’m thinking about John Kennedy speaking at the Berlin Wall, rallying and electrifying the free people of the world against Soviet Totalitarianism with his immortal line “ ICH BIN EIN BERLINER.” I’m thinking about Reagan, a generation later, on the same ground saying,
Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” These two men, of different parties were part of a continuum of American leadership that spanned nearly 80 years from FDR to Obama. Watching Trump degrade and sunder the western alliance isn’t just tragic, it is profoundly dangerous.
His ignorance, buffoonery and utter unpreparedness are on full display at the NATO summit. He has stained our national honor, humiliated America, disgraced his office and fueled the tide of rising autocracies with his imbecilic ravings.
