11/ As I explained in @slate in March, Vance is botching the Manafort prosecution, because he is trying to overcompensate now. His overzealous charging of Manafort, disregarding NY law, could threaten the entire case: slate.com/news-and-polit…
12/ Of Vance's 16 charges vs Manafort, about 12 duplicate his fed convictions, violating NY's double-jeop law (still in effect). The other 4 are for a single minor mortgage fraud. Vance abuses law for partisan points for putting Manafort in Rikers. This should backfire w/ judges.
13/ A final crucial point back to Epstein, pardons, and Vance:
If the feds (SDNY) prosecute Epstein or get a cooperation plea deal...
and if Trump then pardons him, Epstein will be protected by NY state's double jeopardy law, even after the recent closing of "pardon loophole..."

14/ **NY state prosecutors** need to get the plea deal/put Epstein on trial, not the feds. But we shouldn't trust Vance, and he has an appearance of bias.

@NewYorkStateAG doesn't have a prosecutorial role here. It has to be a DA's office. Get Vance to recuse, get NY state prosecutors to indict Epstein.
