A 15 year old migrant child described the laughter of the CBP officer as he assaulted and humiliated her in plain view. So too did Dr. Ford, who’s own voice was muffled by the cupped hand of one of two friends whose uproarious laughter became the soundtrack to her assault.
We heard it in our minds as she spoke. The laughter. The sound of camaraderie built on a foundation of our reduction, a lifetime of harmless jokes that daily embarrass, demean, diminish and erase our humanity. You’re a fat fucking cum dumpster but god, don’t take it so seriously.
