Apparently Washington Post journalist @ishaantharoor doesn’t comprehend why people might be critical of someone promoting and celebrating an open Nazi collaborator and Hitler ally.

No idea what this has to do with Malcom X.
TFW when you can’t actually defend what you wrote....
It really isn’t that complicated. Bose embraces the two most deadly ideologies of the 20th century (socialism and fascism). He openly allied himself with Hitler.

Fact that people agree with some of his views on Indian nationalism does not justify celebrating someone like that.

As for BDS, it is an antisemitic movement. We don't celebrate KKK members who just discriminate without violence either.
This is a perfect example of what @ayaan pointed out in her WSJ piece. Omar and others have learned to couch their bigotry with the progressive intersectional framework.

@Ayaan In fact, while free speech does protect bigoted speech, it also comes with a responsibility that we counter and call that speech out. Omar wants us to sanction and celebrate that bigotry. Would be nice if some in the media and on the left called her out for that.

How do you think Trump managed to approve all these judges (which btw are basically handed to him)? How do you think R's forced spending cuts? Passed tax cuts? Repealed the mandate?

That was all set-up by hard won Congressional victories in 2010-2016.
Our system is intentionally set up to make big changes difficult. They require multiple election wins and public support. That includes repeals. They don't happen because 1 person won one Presidential race.
And i'm not even mentioning all of the advancements (pro-life bills, right to work etc.) made at the state level on important causes (that probably matter even more than national ones) because of years of continued R efforts.

Still weird to me how I, someone who has a long record of being far more conservative than Trump on almost every issue, get defined as a "moderate" for being critical of him...
Also, enough with the whole "only Trump and his crew really know how to win" nonsense. We won thousands of Dem seats during the Obama Presidency. He won one election against one of the most unpopular Democrats to ever win the nomination, and then had a subpar midterm.
There are races other than just the Presidential one. Trump barely beat Hillary. R's desperately need all the help they can get because of him (despite Dems running to the crazy left) so maybe try not to alienate everyone else on the right?
