Still weird to me how I, someone who has a long record of being far more conservative than Trump on almost every issue, get defined as a "moderate" for being critical of him...
Also, enough with the whole "only Trump and his crew really know how to win" nonsense. We won thousands of Dem seats during the Obama Presidency. He won one election against one of the most unpopular Democrats to ever win the nomination, and then had a subpar midterm.
There are races other than just the Presidential one. Trump barely beat Hillary. R's desperately need all the help they can get because of him (despite Dems running to the crazy left) so maybe try not to alienate everyone else on the right?

Ilhan Omar is a deplorable bigot, she's corrupt, and she represents the very worst of America. But she is an American.

Justifying or promoting bigotry against her puts you on the very same level. Don't contribute to allowing America be defined by its worst elements.
I won't pretend it's easy as a Jewish-American to defend Omar. I won't pretend it's not sickening to watch the media and others excuse her bigotry and radicalism. But this is bigger than her. This is about us.

America is better than that.
Lastly, as others have pointed out, this behavior creates sympathy for her. Now a large segment of Americans views Omar as the victim, which gives her cover for her bigotry and behavior. It normalizes those things.

That goes way beyond partisan points or an election.

“The Squad” is doing a lot of interviews right now. Any tough questions? Anything on how their rhetoric could incite violence re ICE with that Antifa attack?

Anyone going to ask Omar about her misuse of campaign funds, perjury, bigotry, or double standards regarding sanctions?
Anyone going to ask Tlaib about her extensive and close associations with supporters of antisemites and supporters of terrorism?

Ask AOC about Yad Vashem and US Holocaust Museum condemning her comparison?
Or how about just asking them what their solution is to the southern border crisis since they opposed any aid and supported boycotts of bed providers while complaining about overcrowding and conditions at CBP facilities?

What’s their plan?

I mean it was just a month ago that AOC insultingly compared detention centers to Nazi concentration camps. Media didn't demand every Dem comment on it, they mostly ignored mainstream Jewish groups condemning her, and instead quoted selective partisans to defend her.
In fact, they just spent several days spinning what she said and other possible meanings. The same way some Trump fans are doing with his statement now.

The problem is that the press isn't supposed to behave like a bunch of committed partisans.

People notice that stuff.
Maybe Trump was just talking about the Boer War?

Burden of Proof: a practical primer. I'm getting hecka tired of Trumpsters looking to #exonerate #Trump because the #MuellerReport didn't indict him of #collusion, #conspiracy, or #campaignfinanceviolations. This isn't a binary choice, there are levels, and Trump IS NOT at 0.
Some Evidence: The lowest level, a single piece of evidence that collusion or conspiracy occurred, though it can be explained away by other means but points the way...an undisclosed meeting with Russian officials for example.
Reasonable Indications: Considering how the motivations and circumstances line up with the presented evidence though each could be explained away by other facts. Trump's long standing interest in a #TrumpTower in #Moscow and whispers of the existence of #Russian #Compromat.
