I walked across the Paso del Norte bridge and into Mexico this morning to meet with kids and families who came to our country seeking asylum but who have been turned back by this administration's unlawful and inhumane policies.

This is who we are keeping out:
I spoke with a mom who faced violence, kidnapping, and threats to her 10-year-old's life in Honduras. They traveled atop, not inside of, a train known as La Bestia and fell off on the journey. They've been in Juárez 4 months and don't have their U.S. court appointment until Sept.
She had a business in Honduras, a home, and a school her daughter liked. She didn't want to leave -- she had to. She made the decision that I would make it if I were in the same situation with Molly, to come here and seek safety. I think it's what any parent would do.

In a few minutes Amy & I are going to run the Capital City Pride 5K here in Des Moines as we celebrate Iowa’s 10th anniversary of marriage equality. We’re inspired by these victories for the LGBTQ+ community and our country, but we know there’s still a lot of work to do.
This past year, the legislature passed a bill that would prevent public insurance, including Medicaid, from covering the cost of gender reassignment surgery. This is an effort to endanger and devalue the lives of transgender Iowans and we cannot accept it.

Inside the mouth are teeth and gingiva(gums). Both potential sources for severe infections often asymptomatic for a long time. I used to be amazed during my private practice of 10 years in the US to see patients come in with severe gum infections #dentalcare #presurgery
And carious broken teeth with periapical pathology. I feel there is a huge area for improvement in this aspect of pre-surgical screening. For starters this needs to be made part of the PAT. A panoramic xray like this and a check up by a dentist,preferably #dentalcare #presurgery

Okay first things: You may already be covered medically and saving money. How do you find this out? Look at your CTC in your appointment letter or your payslip

Do you have something called PF on it? That's a saving!

Did HR issue you an insurance card? That's your Mediclaim.
Things to ask: How much PF is being deposited into my account each month?

What's my sum insured? Is it just me who is covered or my dependents too?

e.g. You have 3 lacs for self plus dependents (parents/spouse/child). This means upto 3 lacs to be used by any of you per year

1) Raphael Lemkin, known as the father of the Genocide Convention, rejected the terms "Barbarity", "Mass murder", "Denationalization", "Germanization", "Magyarization" and many others to depict Hitler's attempt to annihilate the Jewish population.
2) He wanted a word that would - according to @AmbPower44 in her book "A Problem from Hell" - "connote a practice so horrid and so irreparable that the very utterance of the word would galvanize all who heard it". To Lemkin words mattered. So he came up with the word "Genocide".
