@nlw There are many more valid questions like that. Whenever anybody says "XYZ is centralized/decentralized/trusted/trustless" stop them and ask them to say who is relying on whom for what. ៚
@nlw P.S. If you start using this terminology, it'll make you think more clearly, and you'll probably realize that there are certain cases that were being called "decentralization" that you want and certain cases that you *don't* want.

@Mangan150 ipratropium can improve FEV1 by 28 mL (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/86816…), so about 1/10 as much as this “low-carb” diet did (dabamirror.sci-hub.tw/4081/4cc43c7fb…). Note that this “low-carb” diet was 28% carb by calories.
@Mangan150 COPD is one of the big killers, and debilitators.
@Mangan150 Oh, and the improvement from the drug was measured after 90 days on the drug, compared to 15 days on the diet.

People keep talking about not getting jobs in Nigeria while employers keep talking about not being able to get employees of good quality. There is a gap that can’t be explained by poor education alone. I think we have a lost generation that is slipping through the cracks slowly.
I don’t handle anything related to entry level employment anymore but have seen at least 20 CVs from Nigeria and Ghana this year from relatives + friends. I am alarmed by the lack of initiative to do something new or learn with all the resources around. Very common with graduates
The degree is NO LONGER ENOUGH! Do something else. This was already true in my time decades ago when people started getting professional certifications to boost their profile. If you still depend on degrees and even certification instead of experience, you WILL struggle.

Quantitative Models provide a ceiling, which us humans subtract from, not a floor on which we build upon. Actually this concept forms the core of Michael Lewis's bestseller 'The Moneyball' where a simple Mathematical model handily outperformed a score of Professional selectors
There are similar studies where simple Models have outperformed Doctors, Judges, CEO's...in a multitude of critical areas where one would have thought that skills honed thru years of study and practice would have yielded superior results

The problem is not socialists.They have no place in US politics and won't. The problem is not capitalism. It worked well to make American the economic powerhouse of the world. The problem is rigged capitalism--which for 40 yrs the GOP has engineered with the help of some Dems.
Our system has been hijacked by the rich and powerful to serve them. With wages at effectively the same level as more than 4 decades ago and the minimum wage at effectively the same level as 6 decades ago, while the 1 percent get richer, everyone else is left behind.
Increases in productivity no longer translate into higher wages for workers. Companies don't use tax breaks to create jobs they use them to buy back stock and enrich top management and shareholders. Regulations are rolled back. Tax cuts help only the wealthy.

I knew boys in junior high and high school who darkened their faces as part of dressing up for costume parties as their favorite football player. This would have been in the late 70s/early 80s. Houston, TX. Usually the player was the amazing Earl Campbell.
I’ve never known anyone to dress up as a minstrel (or a KKK member), but many white people lack awareness that darkening their skin as part of a costume is experienced by black people as a form of blackface.

That ignorance is a reflection of privilege and not an excuse, however.
This is NOT just a regional thing.

White students around the country dress up as sports and cultural figures and darken their faces.

Sometimes they’re aware it’s offensiveness.

Sometimes they aren’t.
