AL said the council provided extensive funding to ensure that it was investing in a facility to serve Oldham Atheletic fans and to benefit the Club financially. I googled Oldham council cabinet minutes. Went back to 08/2011. Looked for... #oafc
The land acquisition of the Lancashire Club. The council proposed 3 options.
Do nothing
Acquire the Lancaster Club
Acquire the Lanc Club; re-gear the lease at Chapel Road and pay a Grant to help redevelop BP. They chose option 3. #oafc
Now, that grant was minuted as due to all the work the community trust does. The purchase of the land from the “American investors” is not part of the grant, but it transferred assts from land to cash for the land owners. Reportedly it stopped a legal fight #oafc
The whole report is here from page 25 committees.oldham.gov.uk/documents/g246… you can read the minutes too but they just say they chose option 3. #oafc to the published accounts!
The assets don’t look to have a mass land holding in 2010-2013 as an asset. So one would assume the Lancashire Club land was not owned by Oldham Atheletic (2004) Association Football Club Limited. Maybe American investors. #oafc
Let’s have a look at Brass Bank. They are a dormant company with accounts only popping up in 2016 and the only asset... Freehold Investment Property.2017 it’s the same. When did the stand construction finish? 🤔 #oafc
So the stands is not part of Oldham Atheletic (2004) Association Football Club ltd. The grant from the council was to help the redevelopment of the ground to allow community work to continue. I think the stand owners used that. But ask yourself, is AL for the community? #oafc
It took me 20minutes to find all this & cost me nothing. £3 gets you land registry details for Boundary Park. If I could google this info in 20minutes so could AL. Anyone can. I don’t know what the council paid the American investors #oafc
5.7m reported never went to Oldham Atheletic (2004) Association Football Club ltd. google.co.uk/amp/s/www.manc… it went to building a stand owned by a third party for their to be a football club. It might have been more than that, it could be less. #oafc
And because construction was so poorly manage (I don’t think they employed anyone with construction knowledge to manage it), I’d say that stand cost over 7m and isn’t even finished! #oafc

In short: check the facts. Don’t believe everything in statements. Don’t take all your info from newspapers. Check the sources of information. Who owns what at Boundary Park messy but it only took me 20min to confirm AL is spinning facts to get him a pity party #oafc
