Facts: 1. Dec 2, 2016 - Justice Kolawole of the Federal High Court ordered the immediate and unconditional release of Zakzaky within 45 days and payment of N50 million in damages for unlawful and unconstitutional arrest and detention.
2. On January 22, 2018, one year after it failed to comply with the court order, the FG through the Attorney General filed an appeal against the court order.
3. 10 January 2019 - The Human Rights Council states that the arrest and continued detention of Zakzaky is arbitrary and violates article 9 of the Universal Declaration and in articles 9 (1) and (2) and 14 (3) (a) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
All must be seen as equal under the law.
