For Conn to act like this is (1) at all surprising and (2) not obvious racism and xenophobia at play is utter garbage, and good on @Timodc for continuing to press him on it.
Reminder that: (1) the Trump administration is seeking to give these ever-failing agencies vastly more power to quickly deport people without (generally) any court review.
And: (2) The Trump administration is seeking to exercise the ultimate power—executing people—for the first time since 2003. There have only been three federal executions in the modern era of the death penalty; the Trump admin wants to more than double that in the coming months.
