Brig Devinder Singh is a hero who was wronged.

The Armed Forces Tribunal upheld claims that top commanders (including then GOC 15 Corps, Lt Gen Pal) falsified accounts of battles in the Batalik sector, where Brig Devinder Singh was operating and in command. Here's my report from May 2010 when the order was made public.

Even years after retirement, Brig Devinder Singh was using his command level experience to help in a disaster situation. I last met him when he was assisting forces with relief ad rescue efforts after the devastating 2013 Uttarakhand flash floods.
Unfortunately, instead of following AFT's orders to correct certain sections of the official Kargil war history, the army decided to appeal against the verdict in 2010. Gen VK Singh was COAS at the time.
