There is a new strategy from a small group of disruptive elements to lodge complaints with the Public Protector & request investigations on issues they want to block. And the pliable PP is falling over backwards to investigate the dodgy complaints while neglecting the big stuff.
Apparently our esteemed Public Protector has now launched an investigation into signing of REIPPP Bid Window 4 (based on dodgy accusations from the usual suspects). Eskom has been asked to provide all the contracts & supporting documents. See details here:

The disruptive, dodgy elements have tried the courts and failed, but the Public Protector seems to be a soft touch, and is always up for a good stick to beat the current regime.

Environmental NGOs @groundWorkSA & @CentreEnvRights has launched high court proceedings against @environmentza Minister Nomvula Mokonyane & President @CyrilRamaphosa to set aside govt plan to double the amount of harmful pollutant SO2 that @Eskom & @SasolSA are allowed to emit.
@groundWorkSA @CentreEnvRights @environmentza @CyrilRamaphosa @eskom @SasolSA The weakening of SO2 emission standards gazetted by the @environmentza would allow all coal-fired boilers to emit double their previously-allowed SO2 pollution from 1 April 2020. This includes the already heavily-polluted Vaal, Highveld and Waterberg Priority Areas.

The thing I find most frustrating about British politics is how nearly everyone with political power or a media platform is myopically focused on how Britain navigates the next few years, while there is no national conversation about where we want to be in 10, 20 or 50 years.
Both sides of the Brexit divide are guilty. Continuity Remainers want only to reverse Brexit and make it so that the EU referendum result was nothing but a bad dream. Hard Brexiteers have their platitudes about Britain swashbuckling its way to WTO rules-based free trade glory.
The truth is that Britain has entered a state of political discontinuity, where the old left/right political divides, "acceptable" policies & talking points are no longer adequate to the issues we face. We're not alone; other Western countries face the same, but are ignoring it.
