Bitcoin is more an offensive "tech" than a defensive asset (like gold).

Are you sur it will be a flight to safety in a bear market? Pretty sure it's not yet ready and will dump first along with a market crash/crisis.
However, when Bitcoin price will be mature (~$200k-$400k) it will be a flight to safety asset, and I think will eat the 80% gold value of speculative asset class. But we are not yet in that ballpark.
Sorry for you all bitcoin/goldbug retards.

I don't want to be rude, but I think it already has been price in 2017 Ath. The rest is now history.

Although the shops seemed busy to me, they were described as quiet by managers and WGC colleagues. That fits with what I’ve always understood, in that this time of thyear year rarely sees strong demand. Should start to pick up at 15 Aug, I’m told. 2/n

I want to go ahead and talk about logic for this rally.

1. In a bear market, any pump would be to dump harder, which has been the case throughout this past year. All of the past rallies were achieved via Bart patterns, signally a lack of real buying volume.
However, we can clearly see that this most recent rally was achieved via pump + organic buying volume. We had consolidation instead of retrace throughout the rally, price moves that mirror moves of 2017.

So why are volumes coming back?
Without change in fundamentals, any serious pump would be to liberate trapped higher-up positions and a colossal waste of money for the bulls. Bulls won't be stupid enough to blast through many critical resistances allowing higher-up positions to exit.

1/ quick history of bitcoin crashes (spoiler, price goes back up)

August 2012, followed by 5 months of sideways then ATH
2/ April 2013 followed by 4 month bear market, then ATH 2 months later
3/ December 2013 when I bought my first bitcoin (at the top) followed by essentially a 2 year bear market with some fakeout rallies along the way, new ATH not until Feb 2017.
