I am at the Moynihan courthouse for the #JeffreyEpstein hearing today.
So much for a speedy trial- looks like it's not going to start until June or September of 2020(?!)
Due to 1 million pages of discovery documentation😱

2/ Finally got to car- back over GWB
Here is a reporter Jonathan ___? (Didnt catch the last name) Giving update outside courthouse, after #JeffreyEpstein hearing:

3/ Here is Gloria Allred, I met her in the bathroom just prior to her conference outside. She told me she was representing someone(more than one?) in Jeffrey Epstein case, but couldnt say names. She said it didnt hurt to ask😊, then asked who I was with?
Me: "The public"🤗

4/ Outside I believe she said her client(s) were not from Fl. And that she was approached by more than one person before and after #JeffreyEpstein's arrest. Other than that I missed but you can probably google search what else she said... I think she kept it vague.

5/ Getting back to the hearing, the judge asked if lawyers had come up with potential dates for scheduling.. The govt requested Oct 31 for Discovery deadline, with exception of some materials discovered such as data on cell phones etc, that FBI may need longer time to process...

6/ For pre- trial motions in the #JeffreyEpstein case, the govt asked for defense requests to be submitted by Jan 10, Feb 10 for govt to reply, and then Feb 24 to wrap it up, with suggested trial date to begin in June 2020. (🙄 I wanted to scream "Objection!)..

7/ The defense then requested a preliminary trial date of Sept 2020, on the grounds that the govt has stated they have approx 1,000,000 pages of discovery evidence, and that 13 mos is required etc. I was wondering, as I know many are.. will #JeffreyEpstein live that long?

8/The defense also brought up the non-prosecution agreement, double jeopardy issues that need addressing etc..
I got the feeling they would try to drag it out as ling as possible..

9/ The prosecution then argued that they initially wanted the trial in May, and proposed June as a compromise, stating that it is in the public interest to speed things along (👏👏), given the defendant's conduct and the length of time that has already passed..

10/ The judge seems to be in favor of giving the defense the time that they request, however he also stated that there will be several conferences between now and June to figure it all out.. next meeting set for Oct 28 for oral arguments (re: discovery?).

11/ P.S. Epstein looked surprisingly good today, much better than the last appearance, in which he looked a bit disheveled and disoriented... Today he looked a few years younger (?!🤔), and I could not see any marks on his neck when he walked in.

12/ Oh, one last thing! For all #Qanon followers the #JeffreyEpstein trial is taking place on the 17th floor🤗😎😜!
