Over 2000 residents in Chandler AZ have 'Ring' camera door bells that use apps and police and others can also tap in to cameras using app called 'Neighbors' app run by 'Ring' owned by Amazon.

The department has an officer in each of its precincts assigned to search Neighbors for residents’ posts about potential crimes. But the department has also had to address false perceptions, stoked by the app and the publicity around it, that crime is on the rise.
