At the 215MW Kudenda plant in Kaduna, the site manager, Paul Adeyemo, of Rockson Engineering.

Adeyemo said the project initially was sited at Kudenda industrial area instead of Kakuri industrial area.

Each of the 8 units generates up to 25MW. The plant has also been designed in a way that it will be powered by DIESEL, and GAS in the absence of diesel.

EFCC has begun the probe of the $16bn power project of the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

There had been conflicting figures on the exact cost of the project as some people put it at $16bn while others say it is $13.8bn

It was gathered last night that the anti-graft agency may arrest key contractors involved in the power project scam which extended beyond the Obasanjo administration into those of former Presidents Umaru Yar’Adua and Goodluck Jonathan.

It was also learnt that about 18 top former and serving public officers, including two ex-ministers, may be questioned.

I’ll try to address the points you took the time to raise.
1. I agree that Nigeria has no state religion. The Dubai example was followed by examples from the UK, and Israel.

The foundation laid was to show that most societies - secular & non-secular - have made accommodations for Islam and at Islamic arbitration (if not justice).
2. Your example of a 2017 stabbing during Ramadan proves only that there are violent extremists in Islam. Just as there are violent extremists in other religions.

Crucially, it misses the mark wrt the discussion about Hisbah stating they want to police the fasting of Muslims.

It must be noted that this crisis is not the first this year to engulf Kasuwan Magani, #Kaduna.

At least 12 persons were killed and 1,000 houses destroyed in a religious crisis that erupted on 26 February over the conversion of a Christian girl to Islam by her Muslim boyfriend.
65 persons were subsequently arrested and charged to court by @contactkdsg.

The history of #Kaduna is filled with crises cutting across religious, economic and tribal lines, and various governments, both military and civilian have been unable to prevent the lawlessness.
The state government’s helplessness was laid bare during the 2016 crisis between herdsmen and farmers in #Godogodo.

The payment of compensation only for cattle killed in the crisis exposed the unwillingness of @contactkdsg to confront these security threats head-on.

Paul was an incredibly important man to so many. My deepest condolences to his sister and those closest to him. The great research and philanthropic work at Vulcan continues.

Like many of my Microsoft generation, I did not have a opportunity to work with Paul day-to-day in the very early days while he was full-time Microsoft. The chance I had began in the early 1990s when I was working for Bill as his technical assistant.
Paul was always curious and incredibly thoughtful about his questions and ideas about the future. The first time we talked was before the internet had really taken off but online services were becoming a big thing. Web technologies were new and the idea of an online service huge.
