The claim that Congresswomen @IlhanMN and @RashidaTlaib had an itinerary dedicated to harm and incite against Israel is directed not only against them, but against myself.
It is a false claim.
1/
I was part of the itinerary purported to aspire to harm Israel and incite against us.
That is a lie.
I am an Israeli and was honored to be asked to give the Congresswomen an onsite tour and overview of the geopolitics of East Jerusalem. I of course agreed.
2/
Had the Congresswomen be granted access, this coming Monday I would have shown the the eactly same geopolitical realities of East Jerusalem as I have done with many other decision makers and opinion shapers in Israel, Palestine and beyond.
3/
This is precisely the overview of the conflict in Jslm I've given to heads of state (David Cameron, Boris Johnson etc.) FMs (Steinmeier, Hagu etc.), the senior command of the iDF & Israeli intelligence community, Congressmen (John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Tina Smith etc).
4/
Had they been granted entry, they'd have seen up close the stark realities of contemporay Jerusalem, the two national collectives of the city and the nature of the conflict between them, and the equities of the three faiths with deep equities in an attachment to the city.
5/
The Congresswomen would have seen up close realities that debunk the hollow myth of "the eternal undivided capital of Israel", exposing them to an increasingly unsustainable occupation, where Israelis are in power, and the Palestinian poltically disempowered.

The Congresswoman would have seen the nature of the conflict, its current trajectory and flashpoints, and how occupation can be ended in a manner compatible with the genuine national interests of both Israelis and Palestinians.
7/
They'd have seen up close an occupation, which in the past was at times a disease in remission, now with policies that even Israel's allies can no longer support.
They'd have seen the grave harm occupation inflicts on only on Palestiians, but on us, the Israeli occupiers
8/
The Congresswomen would have seen the deep Jewish, Christian and Muslim attachments to the city, now threatened by religious movements that weaponize faith, and are turning an national conflict that can be ultimately resolved into a zero-sum unresolvable religious war.
9/
The denial of access to Omar and Tlaib is a hollow, populistic and futile gesture that changes none of that.
A house divided against itself cannot stand, half occupied and half free
Genuine friends of Israel know that occupation will end, or it will be the end of us.
10/
These are dark days both in Israel and in the US. We won't capitulate to the darkness.
The stark realities of occupation will not disappear through bans and bullying. The Congresswomen will be back & see these realities up close, hopefully sooner rather than later.
11/
I look forward to discussing & arguing w/them & other friends of Israel & Palestine how to realize the rights of self-determination of both peoples in a way that is compatible w/ the genuine national interests of both, & to heal this tortured, scarred and beloved land.
