I'm thinking about the response (which has overwhelmingly been positive) and a few of the things that got overlooked or weren't as clear as I thought they were.
The first is the idea of Permanence, which is one of those words that runs up against a problem of use-case-definitions.
I guess I'm just so used to reading the propaganda of empires that I'm used to Permanence being an expression of the empire, that the empire will persist for generations, that its monuments will stand for millennia, and not just, like, a house as opposed to a campsite.
But that's not a distinction that I made clear, so there's definitely a couple different readings in there.
Okay, I don’t think we’re going to get a comment worse than “what if I want to role play genocide?”
Oh wait, no, never under-estimate gamers
It's sad how predictable the "you're just saying that because you hate the game" accusation is.

It doesn't matter how effusively you praise a game, how much you play that game, that it may be one of your favourite games ever.

Social criticism = you hate the game.
Actually it's "I see terraforming as progress because I was raised in a culture that holds that as a value; and also we shouldn't knee-jerk read criticism of colonialism as a blanket condemnation of industrialization because it's not that simple" but go on
I don’t know why you’re saying “no” since you’re just reenforcing my broader point
