Trump has called into Brian Kilmeade's Fox News Radio show. He says Florida will be totally ready for the hurricane, even though, "according to the folks over at weather," the state is going to be hit.
Trump says you have to judge his dealings with China on the "end product." He says China has been ripping off the United States "like babies." He says he was dealt many "bad hands," like with China and North Korea, but is going to win with every one.
Trump says China "plays a vicious game" by targeting US farmers, but he has "made up for it" with his $28 billion in aid. (Many farmers say that the aid doesn't make them whole or replace the long-term trading relationships Trump has damaged.)
Trump says he's a "little surprised" that China hasn't fulfilled its promises to crack down on fentanyl exports to the US, though he says China has taken little steps.
Asked about talks with China, Trump says there is "*A* talk scheduled for today, at a different level." He doesn't say what level.
Told of GOP Sen. Pat Toomey's remarks about the trade war slowing the economy, Trump angrily says, "What does Pat Toomey want me to do? Does he want me to say 'Let me put my hands up, China...continue to rip us off? Let me give up right now, China, even though we're winning?'"
Trump falsely claims again that US unions are supportive of the USMCA. The AFL-CIO, UAW and many others say they can't support it without significant changes.
Trump says, of Mexico, "I happen to like 'em right now." (Because of its decision to put soldiers at its borders to thwart asylum seekers heading to the US.)
