@joero3 @nytopinion @dcherring Sure, it's a real problem and it's going to affect billions of people. But it's also a problem that requires iterated solutions over many, many years, and it's not going to be solved next week. I also think that a lot of people involved in fomenting panic have an agenda. /1
@joero3 @nytopinion @dcherring I think there are people who care a lot about the future and I want them to succeed. I have *always* thought, and still do, that there are also people in the climate movement who think this is a backdoor into controlling the international economy. That is, "reforming" it. /2
@joero3 @nytopinion @dcherring Having failed to make a case for controlling capitalism on moral grounds, they are arguing that capitalism must now be controlled because of science, which is morally irrefutable. This conflates two problems, both of which are real but not the same problem. /3
@joero3 @nytopinion @dcherring So, I trust that the science is right about climate change. I do not trust *some* of the policy advocacy people related to that that science. And I think that's a reasonable debate to have. /4x
