Before you say 'I Do', there are a couple of information you need to know of the person you want to marry. I will focus on 3 important ones.

1. Financial information.

Earning: You need to know what he does for a living and how much he earns from what he does. No ifs or buts.
Debt: You need to be aware of any debt in his name. Understand that if he has any liability, whatsoever asset you financed together can be ceased to offset the debt. There are now ways to independently find out whether your significant other is owing in case he's not forthcoming.
2. Sexuality

Orientation: Sexuality is sometimes influenced by experiences & exposures. Find out abt the experiences that shaped their sexuality and expectations in a consensual relationship. Do they have fantasy's? If yes, what are the triggers? Any exposure to adult material?
Abuse: Find out if there was ever any incident of sexual abuse at any point in their lives. People who experienced sexual abuse tend to struggle with issues of sexuality in marriage especially if the other spouse is not sensitive. They suffer from mood swings and trust issues.
3. Family Information

Understand that when u marry, you're not just marrying someone, you're marrying into a family. While people can walk out of a marriage, they don't usually walk out of a family. The family is always a constant factor & u need to know what you're getting into
Information about your parents in-law and your spouse's siblings is very important. What are their antecedents? Are they traditional or modern, religious or agnostic? What is the family history? The point here is to know what you are getting into BEFORE you get into it.
Sometimes (especially in religious circles), we get the idea that these things should not be discussed because it implies doubt or a lack of faith in God. But trust me, you're better off knowing these things than not knowing about them.

Wishing you all a happy married life.
