There's a lot to unpack here.

First, it's "common sense," not "commonsense." I mean, autocorrect fixes it for you, so why are you intentionally taking extra steps to sound illiterate?

Next, to buy a gun from out of state, one must be eligible to buy a gun in your home state. What effectively happens is that you go out of state, "buy" the gun, it gets shipped from that dealer to one in your home state, and your eligibility is checked there.

Basically the only reason you'd ever buy a gun out of state is if it was a crazy good deal or a rare weapon for a collector.

But let's pretend that this is actually happening for a moment. What would that mean?

For starters, it would mean Cruz was right: gun control doesn't work. The idea behind gun control is that it reduces the number of guns, and reduces the amount of gun violence. Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws, and some of the highest gun violence.

You can try to explain it away with a bunch of misinformation and bad math, Lori, but the basic fact here is that the Left says "more gun control = less crime" and that just simply hasn't happened in Chicago, or anywhere else in the U.S. for that matter.

Next, your claim is that people getting guns in Indiana, but for some reason the crime rates in Indiana are nowhere near those of Illinois.

If gun culture is running free in IN, shouldn't gun crime be out of control? And, in fact, higher than IN?

Why travel X miles to IN to buy a gun, and then drive X miles back to IL to commit crime? Why not just commit the crime there in IN?

Could it be that the prevalence of guns in IN has them thinking twice? Safer to take it back to IL where there are fewer guns.

Lastly, let's pretend guns in IL are coming from out-of-state. What's the solution? Ban them in that state? And then the next state over? And the next?

Eventually you're going to run out of states. Then what? Are you going to support Trump's wall?

Gun control activists like to cite the U.K., Australia, and NZ as examples of successful gun bans, but they all have one thing in common: they're islands.

We're not an island, so we're going to need a way to prevent guns from getting in.
