BOSTON: We’re gathering at the New England Holocaust Memorial, getting ready to march against the businesses in our community making money helping ICE persecute immigrants.

We were raised with the stories of our ancestors and our people. We don’t make comparisons to the Holocaust lightly.

What we see happening to immigrants of color in the U.S. looks like the early stages of what happened to us and others in Nazi Germany.

ICE and CBP can’t do their evil work alone. They rely on the greed of corporations who see our immigrant neighbors living in fear & living in cages, and see dollar signs instead of human beings.

As a people who’ve been targeted over & over again, for thousands of years, Jews know the signs, and we know where this leads. Unless we make it stop.

@amazon What Amazon is doing is not new. Technology companies have been enabling racist state violence for centuries.

IBM was at the heart of Nazi Germany’s efforts to track, round up, and kill Jews. We cannot let American tech companies be complicit as the war on immigrants ramps up.
@amazon It’s impossible to imagine watching ICE’s racist, dehumanizing violence against immigrants & thinking you should sell them facial recognition tech, so it’s easier for ICE to round people up. But that’s what Amazon did.

Remember the Wyatt ICE detention center in RI? The one where the guards ran us over with a truck & pepper sprayed us, and the town it's in has been trying to shut it down for a year?

The Wyatt board cancelled tonight's meeting to hide from our protest. Won't work, we'll be back.

What this piece leaves out: we follow in the footsteps of decades of resistance by immigrant communities, in the face of harsh repression. For example, even our primary tactic of using non-violent direct action to shut down ICE facilities was pioneered in 2010 by #Not1More.
And we are far from the only historically or currently persecuted group sounding the alarm and taking action! Just take a look at the coalition of Latinx, Japanese-American, Black, Indigenous, & Jewish groups who stopped the re-opening of the Japanese internment camp at Ft. Sill

Lou Dobbs just justified and promoted the car ramming that that caused one of our peaceful protestors to have serious injuries.

This was an attack that could have (and has, as in Charlottesville) killed someone. Fox News is inciting violence.
Note the propaganda of this approach. They must distort reality to justify their inhumanity. There is no other way.

D'Souza conflates about a dozen different elements of Nazism, #Nazi policy, and the Final Solution, exaggerating influences in one area while simply making erroneous claims on the other. Moreover, Hitler's very real borrowing from the US is not a surprise to scholars.

[Thread] Based on recent discussions with @SamuelSokol, @TarikCyrilAmar, and @AuschwitzMuseum over the continued debates regarding the "naming" of concentration camps in Poland, I've decided it's time for a thread, b/c this is not about history but the present in Poland.
What has many Poles (and state-run museums) up in arms, is ANY connection of the word "Poland" with Holocaust sites (and more broadly behavior- hence the "correction" above.) They particularly rail against the term "Polish" death or concentration camps. edition.cnn.com/2018/02/01/eur…
The argument is that Poles did not establish or run these camps...which is absolutely correct. But the problem is, no one really thinks Poles built Auschwitz, etc. Sure, there are ignorant people out there or some students, but I defy you to find a scholar making this argument.
