The Prime Minister repeats his claim that he won’t ask for another delay, irrespective of the law.
But the PM has a point. He says that if Parliament wants to delay they should allow the election of a government that wants it. Frankly keeping a government in office against its will, trying to force it to implement a cardinal policy it does not want is bound to cause implosion.
It’s also true that at least part of the reason the Opp won’t grant an election is because there is zero trust in his assurances and a belief he will upend any promise or convention to achieve what he wants. That’s a unique indictment of the complete lack of trust in him as PM.
