Haven't seen this point much before, but Brexit is a huge stealth tax.

For instance once we are out and we have paid what we owe, we will save the £9 billion a year membership fee.

But businesses will face extra costs of £6.5 billion due to complex import/export processes.
However that £9 billion is Government money, and the £6.5 billion comes out of the firms' profits, so it's not the same pot of money we're talking about.

Most other Brexit costs are similarly borne by businesses and individuals, not Government.
But as always it's not that straightforward. There will still be some repercussions to Government. Firms making less profits will pay less taxes. People losing their jos because of Brexit won't pay income tax any more, and will add to the benefit bill. etc. etc.
